These splendid trees are celebrated for lush green serrated leaves, forming an impenetrable screen that bestows privacy, security, and an effective shield against noise and wind upon your garden.

Carpinus Betulus also known as Hornbeam is a tradtional tree that is under valued. It is a natural beauty, they are dense well branched conical crowns that as they mature the structure rounds. They are slow growing. In spring the foliage is a sudden burst of bright green, the leaf itself is serrated and tapers to a point. In autumn they change to a soft yellow before the golden brown we often see. The tree holds the brown coppery leaves for most of the winter. Giving an almost evegreen look, before the drop off. The greyish brown bark is a lovely smooth trunk. Making it ideal for turning into standard or pleached trees as well. Carpinus can reach between 15/25m. 

Carpinus is an excellent choice for inviting wildlife into the garden, they are an excellent source for moths and catrpillars, the green catkins develop into fruits that birds eat. 

Hornbeam are resliant trees that once estbalished can tolerate poor soils, such as clay and chalk. In sun or partial shade.

How long does delivery take?

Where will you leave my plants?

We will leave your order at the front of your property, Parcelforce may
leave your items in a safe place if you let us know, Pallet couriers
will require a flat hard surface to deliver to, no gravel or soil, a
driveway or parking spot would be best. Most importantly Deliveries by
pallet courier will require access for a large truck (bin lorry sized)
to get near the delivery point. Deliveries sent on our own transport may come in a small van or larger truck.
