  • Attractive Bark: As the tree matures, the bark exfoliates in patches, revealing a mosaic of grey, green, cream, and brown tones, adding year-round visual interest.
  • Compact Size: Parrotia trees are well-suited to smaller gardens, reaching a manageable height of 6–10m, depending on the variety.

How To Grow Your Parrotia

Plant in full sun to partial shade for optimal growth and autumn colours. Prefers well-drained, fertile soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Parrotia can tolerate heavier clay soils if drainage is adequate.

Avoid heavy pruning as this can spoil the tree's natural, graceful shape. Minimal pruning is needed; remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches in late winter or early spring
