Collection: Multi Stems

Multi-Stem Trees & Shrubs for Sale

Multi-stem trees and shrubs are grown with several stems rising from the base rather than a single trunk, creating a fuller, more sculptural shape. They bring instant structure, height and screening to a garden, and make striking specimens for borders, courtyards and modern landscaping. At Grasslands Nursery we grow a range of multi-stem trees and shrubs for sale, all UK-grown and available to order online.

Why choose a multi-stem?

• Instant impact — a fuller, more mature look than a single-stem tree of the same age.
• Screening — branching from low down gives privacy without a bare trunk.
• Year-round interest — many show attractive bark, blossom and autumn colour.
• Popular choices — Amelanchier, Betula (birch), Cornus, Crataegus and more.

Multi-Stem FAQs

What is a multi-stem tree?
A tree trained to grow with three or more stems from near ground level, giving a bushier, more architectural form than a standard single-trunk tree.

Are multi-stem trees good for screening?
Yes — because the foliage starts lower down, they screen at eye level without the bare trunk of a standard tree.

How big do multi-stem trees grow?
It depends on the species; many stay a manageable 3 to 6m, ideal for smaller gardens. Check each product page for the ultimate height.
