During the summer months your garden will be brightened up with the Wisteria has pinnate green leaves and long pendulous racemes of scented lilac purple flowers, in long racemes in summer, followed by velvety pods.
Wisteria sinensis is a vigorous climbing plant renowned for its cascading clusters of fragrant, lavender-blue flowers that bloom in spring, creating a stunning and romantic display on walls, pergolas, and arbors.
To grow Wisterias is quite straightforward and easy to plant. Wisterias like a sunny spot but will also grow in partial shade, they like well drained soil but will dry out so they need to be kept well watered. It can be pruned twice a year in July/August, all you need to do is cut back any whippy green shoots of the new growth and then in January/February when you cut back the same growths two or three buds.
