Sorbus aucuparia 'Fastigiata' also known as Fastigiate Mountain Ash is an attractive, columnar tree perfect for smaller spaces or formal planting schemes in the UK. Its upright growth habit, coupled with white spring flowers, bright red berries, and stunning autumn foliage, makes it an excellent choice for ornamental and wildlife gardens. Hardy and low-maintenance, this variety is particularly well-suited for urban environments, where it can enhance biodiversity and provide seasonal interest throughout the year.
- Leaves: The leaves are pinnate, composed of several small leaflets. Each leaf typically has 9-15 serrated leaflets. Bright green in spring and summer, turning to vibrant shades of yellow, orange, or red in the autumn, providing excellent seasonal interest.
