Mahonia × media ‘Winter Sun’ – Winter-Flowering Evergreen
Description
Mahonia × media ‘Winter Sun’ is a robust evergreen shrub admired for its spiny, glossy foliage and vivid, fragrant yellow flowers that appear from late winter to early spring. The blooms provide much-needed colour when most plants are dormant and attract early pollinators.
In summer, the dark green leaves remain visually striking, and small blue-black berries follow the flowers, adding seasonal interest and food for wildlife. Its upright, bushy habit makes it a versatile choice for borders, woodland gardens, and hedging.
