About Liquidambar Gumball Half Standard 25 Litre Pot 1 Metre Head
Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Gum Ball’
Compact, colourful, and perfectly rounded, Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Gum Ball’ is a dwarf sweet gum tree grown for its neat, globe-shaped crown and outstanding autumn colour. Naturally forming a tight ball without heavy pruning, it’s ideal for small gardens or as a feature tree in lawns and courtyards.
Its glossy, star-shaped leaves are fresh green through spring and summer, turning dramatic shades of crimson, orange, and purple in autumn, providing fiery seasonal displays. Even in winter, the bare rounded framework makes an attractive architectural feature.
Hardy and easy to grow, ‘Gum Ball’ thrives in full sun and moist but well-drained soil. It’s a superb choice where a striking but manageable ornamental tree is needed, offering all the beauty of larger Liquidambars in a compact form.
