Seasonal Interest & Flowering
Spring:
Early to flower – often beginning in late spring.
Upright flower spikes emerge with deep purple heads and bright pink-purple 'wings', adding vertical interest.
Aromatic grey-green foliage provides contrast and form.
Summer:
Flowering continues well into summer with regular deadheading.
A magnet for pollinators – particularly bees and butterflies.
Foliage remains tidy and fragrant, even as flowers fade.
Autumn:
Slows flowering as temperatures cool, but foliage stays neat.
Can hold shape and interest late into the season in milder regions.
Winter:
Evergreen in sheltered areas with silvery-grey foliage offering texture.
Protect from prolonged frost or wet if in pots.
