How to Grow and Care for Your Geranium ‘Baby Blue’
Soil – Prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil but adapts well to most conditions, including clay and sandy soils.
Light – Grows best in full sun or partial shade. Too much shade may result in fewer flowers.
Watering – Water regularly when newly planted, but once established, it’s fairly drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering.
Maintenance:
- Deadhead Regularly – Remove spent flowers to encourage a continuous bloom throughout the season.
- Cut Back After Flowering – For a fresh flush of foliage and potential rebloom later in the season.
- Divide Every Few Years – Divide clumps in spring or autumn to rejuvenate the plant and maintain its vigour.
Perfect Plant Combinations
Geranium ‘Baby Blue’ pairs beautifully with other soft-coloured perennials like Lavender, Nepeta, Salvia, and Astilbe, creating a tranquil, cottage-garden feel. It also complements the vibrant tones of Rudbeckia, Coreopsis, or Echinacea for a more dynamic, eye-catching contrast.
