About Cherry Prunus Avium Kordia Heavy Half Standard 12/14cm Girth
Prunus avium ‘Kordia’
Productive, compact, and highly ornamental, the Prunus avium ‘Kordia’ is a superb way to grow sweet cherries in a small space. Trained into an elegant double-U shape on a clear stem, it provides a decorative framework that’s both space-saving and highly fruitful.
‘Kordia’ is an outstanding late-season dessert cherry, producing large, glossy deep red to almost black fruit with a firm texture and rich, sweet flavour. Its blossom is equally attractive in spring, with clusters of pure white flowers that cover the branches before the leaves appear.
Perfect for walls, fences, or patios, offering height and structure while remaining manageable in size. This trained form is ideal for modern gardens, where space is limited but productivity and elegance are equally valued.
