Potentilla fruticosa ‘Bellissima’ – Compact Shrub with Soft Pink Summer Flowers
Potentilla fruticosa ‘Bellissima’ is a charming and dependable shrub, producing masses of delicate soft pink flowers over a remarkably long season. From late spring through to autumn, the plant becomes covered in open, five-petalled blooms that brighten sunny borders for months.
The finely textured green foliage forms a neat, compact mound that provides an attractive backdrop for the flowers. Its tidy growth habit makes ‘Bellissima’ particularly well suited to the front of borders, low informal hedging, and patio containers.
Potentillas are well known for their resilience and adaptability, performing well in a wide range of garden conditions. This variety thrives in sunny positions where it flowers freely and reliably throughout the growing season.
Hardy and low maintenance, Potentilla ‘Bellissima’ tolerates poorer soils and dry conditions once established. A light prune in early spring helps maintain a compact shape and encourages fresh flowering growth.
Pretty, reliable, and easy to grow, ‘Bellissima’ is an excellent choice for gardeners looking for long-lasting colour with minimal effort.
