Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Hameln’ – Graceful Bottlebrush Grass
Description
Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Hameln’, commonly called Fountain Grass, is a compact, arching ornamental grass prized for its soft, narrow foliage and elegant flower spikes. From late summer, bottlebrush-shaped creamy-white panicles rise above the foliage, creating movement and visual interest in borders, beds, and containers.
The foliage turns warm golden-brown in autumn, providing additional seasonal colour. Its compact, clump-forming habit makes it ideal for smaller gardens, terraces, or naturalistic plantings where structure and texture are desired.
Size & Growth
Typically grows 0.8–1 m tall, with flower spikes extending up to 1.2 m, and spreads 0.6–0.8 m wide.
Growing Conditions
