Jasminum nudiflorum – Winter Sunshine for the Garden
Jasminum nudiflorum, or Winter Jasmine, is a much-loved deciduous shrub that brings a splash of golden warmth to the garden at a time when little else is in flower. Its bright, star-shaped yellow blooms appear from midwinter to early spring, lighting up the bare green stems before the fresh green leaves emerge.
This hardy and undemanding climber can be trained against a wall, trellis, or fence, or allowed to spill gracefully down banks and slopes for a naturalistic effect. Its informal habit makes it perfect for cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly spaces, and anywhere in need of cheerful winter colour.
