Heuchera ‘Cranberry’ – Glossy Red Foliage with Bright Summer Flowers
Heuchera ‘Cranberry’ is a bold and colourful perennial, valued for its rich, glossy foliage in shades of deep cranberry-red. The rounded, gently ruffled leaves form a compact, tidy mound that brings warmth, depth, and year-round colour to borders, containers, and shaded planting schemes.
In early to mid-summer, slender stems rise above the foliage carrying sprays of small, bright pink flowers. These delicate blooms add lightness and movement, while also attracting bees and other pollinators. The contrast between the vivid red leaves and the soft pink flowers makes this variety particularly eye-catching in mixed plantings.
Evergreen to semi-evergreen in most UK gardens, ‘Cranberry’ provides dependable structure throughout the year. Hardy, adaptable, and easy to grow, it performs well in sun or partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil. Its strong colouring makes it especially effective alongside silver, lime, or dark-leaved companions.
Vibrant, reliable, and full of personality, Heuchera ‘Cranberry’ is an excellent choice for gardeners looking to inject long-lasting colour and texture into their planting schemes.
