Morus alba ‘Fruitless’ (Fruitless White Mulberry)
Graceful, hardy, and long-lived, Morus alba ‘Fruitless’ is an elegant deciduous tree prized for its broad, spreading crown and handsome foliage without the mess of fallen berries. Unlike the traditional mulberry, this selection does not produce fruit, making it ideal for driveways, lawns, and patios where tidiness matters.
Its heart-shaped, glossy green leaves create a dense canopy through spring and summer, turning buttery yellow in autumn for a bright seasonal display. The wide-spreading branches form a natural shade tree, lending character and maturity to gardens of all sizes.
Adaptable and tough, ‘Fruitless’ thrives in most soils, tolerates urban pollution, and withstands heat and drought once established. It is an excellent choice for both traditional and modern landscapes, combining heritage charm with practical, low-maintenance performance.
