Fuchsia ‘Alice Hoffman’ – Hardy Pink and White Fuchsia with Compact Growth
Fuchsia ‘Alice Hoffman’ is a charming and reliable hardy fuchsia, prized for its delicate two-tone flowers and naturally compact, bushy habit. The elegant blooms feature soft pink sepals surrounding a pale, almost white corolla, creating a refined and timeless colour combination.
Flowering freely from early summer through to autumn, it provides a long season of colour, with its graceful, pendant blooms held just above the foliage. The flowers attract pollinators and bring gentle movement and detail to planting schemes.
Unlike more upright or vigorous fuchsias, ‘Alice Hoffman’ forms a low, spreading mound, making it particularly suitable for the front of borders, edging paths, or growing in containers. Its compact nature also makes it a good choice for smaller gardens where space is limited.
Thriving in sun or partial shade, it prefers moist, well-drained soil and benefits from a sheltered position to protect its delicate flowers. As a hardy variety, it will die back in winter and regrow from the base in spring.
Easy to grow and rewarding, it requires minimal maintenance beyond light pruning in early spring to encourage fresh growth.
Delicate, reliable, and full of charm, Fuchsia ‘Alice Hoffman’ is an excellent choice for adding soft colour and long-lasting interest to the garden.
