[⚠️ Suspicious Content] Yew Hedging (Taxus baccata) – Timeless, Dense Evergreen Structure
Yew (Taxus baccata) is a classic, long-lived evergreen hedge plant, known for its dark green needle-like foliage, dense growth habit, and superb clipping response. Valued for centuries in formal gardens, it provides year-round privacy, structure, and elegance, making it ideal for both modern and traditional designs. Its slow to moderate growth ensures minimal maintenance while delivering exceptional longevity.
Seasonal Beauty & Growth
Spring:
Fresh, bright green new growth appears at shoot tips, contrasting with older dark foliage.
Dense branching starts to fill out gaps in the hedge or shape after clipping.
Summer:
Maintains a rich, deep green colour and thick structure.
Excellent for shaded areas and formal topiary, with great drought tolerance once established.
Autumn:
Small red berries may appear on female plants, providing visual interest and food for birds.
Foliage remains lush and evergreen as other hedging plants fade.
Winter:
Retains full coverage with minimal colour change, giving structure and privacy throughout the year.
Hardy and resilient, even in frost or exposed locations.
