Thuja - cedar - are fast growing, evergreen conifers, they have compact yellowish green foliage that when crushed smells heavenly of pineapple. They respond very well to being trimmed and make a lovely hedge, not as quick growing as the leylandii and can be trimmed hard. To plant thujas they like pretty much all soils but don't like to sit wet.
