Stachyurus praecox is a graceful, deciduous shrub prized for its unique, pendent racemes of soft yellow, bell-shaped flowers that appear in late winter to early spring—often before the leaves emerge. Its arching stems give a delicate, fountain-like form, bringing movement and seasonal interest to mixed borders or woodland gardens.

The ovate green leaves emerge after flowering, turning golden in autumn. Best grown in a sheltered spot with acidic to neutral, well-drained soil, it’s an eye-catching choice for early-season colour and structure.
