Prunus Brenelia is very similar to Angustifolia variety but has larger leaves. The stalks and new stems are rich burgundy red throughout the year. It grows moderately and very dense into a regular, pyramidal shrub.

They are part of the cherry laurel family. A fantastic alternative as they do not grow as fast, have a more formal appearence and just as easy to grow.

They do make great hedges and they are easy to grow as they can be grown in moist well drained soils , then even thrive in poor shallow chalky soils.
