Polygonatum multiflorum
Common name: Solomon’s Seal
A graceful, shade-loving perennial prized for its elegant, arching stems and dangling, tubular white flowers with green tips, which appear in spring and early summer. These charming blooms hang in pairs beneath the stems and are followed by small blue-black berries in autumn.
The softly curving stems bear neat, mid-green leaves that turn yellow in autumn, providing multi-season interest. Ideal for woodland-style gardens, shady borders, or underplanting trees and shrubs. It naturalises beautifully in moist, humus-rich soils and pairs well with ferns and hostas.
Fully hardy and easy to grow in dappled shade or full shade. A classic and refined choice for informal or traditional planting schemes.
