A compact deciduous shrub offering bright golden foliage and delicate white summer flowers, perfect for bringing year-round interest to smaller gardens.
Bright golden-yellow foliage emerges in spring and maintains excellent colour through summer. Clusters of small white flowers appear in early summer, followed by attractive reddish seed pods. Winter stems reveal attractive peeling bark.
Small gardens, patio containers, front-of-border plantings, and low hedging. Excellent for adding bright foliage colour and structure. Works well in mixed borders and contemporary designs.
Plant in sun or partial shade in any reasonably well-drained soil. More golden colour develops in full sun. Very low maintenance and drought tolerant once established. Prune after flowering if needed to maintain shape.
Combine with purple-leaved Heuchera, blue Caryopteris, or dark-leaved shrubs for striking contrast. Pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and late-summer perennials.
A versatile, colourful shrub that delivers impact with minimal care.
