Phormium tenax 'Variegata' is a striking, clump-forming evergreen perennial known for its upright, sword-like leaves boldly striped in green and creamy-yellow. This New Zealand flax adds strong vertical structure and year-round interest to borders, containers, and contemporary garden designs.

Tough and wind-tolerant, it thrives in sun or light shade and copes well with coastal conditions. In summer, mature plants may produce tall flower spikes that attract pollinators.
