Panicum virgatum ‘Heiliger Hain’ – Upright Autumn Accent
Description
Panicum virgatum ‘Heiliger Hain’ is a vigorous, clump-forming ornamental grass prized for its upright habit and fine-textured green leaves. In late summer, airy, purple-tinted panicles rise above the foliage, adding movement and visual interest.
During autumn, the foliage transforms to reddish-bronze, providing striking seasonal colour. Its vertical, architectural form makes it suitable for borders, naturalistic gardens, and mixed perennial plantings. Hardy, low-maintenance, and drought-tolerant, it is ideal for sustainable and wildlife-friendly landscapes.
