Gaura ‘White’ – Airy Elegance with Clouds of Pure White Blooms
Gaura ‘White’ is a graceful, free-flowering perennial that brings lightness, movement, and a long season of interest to any garden. With its delicate, butterfly-like white flowers floating on fine, wiry stems, this plant adds a soft, ethereal charm to borders, containers, and wildflower-inspired designs. Perfect for gardeners seeking a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant perennial with exceptional visual appeal from late spring to autumn.
Seasonal Beauty & Growth
Spring:
Fresh foliage emerges as a basal mound of slender, lance-shaped green leaves. Stems quickly begin to rise in preparation for flowering.
Summer:
From late spring through summer, airy stems are topped with masses of small, white star-like flowers. Each bloom opens in succession, creating the effect of a cloud of butterflies hovering above the plant.
Autumn:
Flowers continue well into early autumn. Foliage may take on soft red or bronze tones as temperatures cool, adding subtle seasonal colour.
Winter:
Gaura dies back to the base in colder climates. Cut back old stems in late winter or early spring to encourage strong, fresh regrowth.
