atsia japonica ‘Spider’s Web’ – Bold Variegated Foliage for Shade and Structure
Fatsia japonica ‘Spider’s Web’ is a dramatic evergreen shrub prized for its large, hand-shaped leaves intricately splashed and marbled with creamy white. Each leaf looks delicately dusted, creating a striking contrast against the deep green background and giving the plant its distinctive, almost frosted appearance. The bold foliage instantly brings a lush, architectural feel to shaded gardens and sheltered spaces.
Naturally forming a rounded, upright shrub, ‘Spider’s Web’ is perfect for adding structure where flowering plants struggle. Its evergreen leaves remain glossy and eye-catching throughout the year, making it an invaluable choice for winter interest. In autumn, mature plants may also produce clusters of small white flowers followed by black berries, adding subtle seasonal detail.
Exceptionally tough and easy to grow, this Fatsia thrives in partial to full shade and prefers a sheltered position away from cold winds. It copes well with urban conditions and is equally at home in borders, large containers, and courtyard gardens. Once established, it requires very little attention while delivering maximum visual impact.
Bold, elegant, and wonderfully reliable, Fatsia ‘Spider’s Web’ is the perfect plant for creating a stylish, leafy backdrop with year-round presence.
