Echinacea purpurea

Echinacea purpurea ‘Lakota Orange’ – Warm, Sunset Tones for a Bold Summer Border

Echinacea purpurea ‘Lakota Orange’ is a strikingly vibrant coneflower known for its intense orange to tangerine-hued blooms. Part of the Lakota Series, it offers bold, sunset-coloured daisy flowers on compact, bushy plants, making it ideal for smaller gardens, pots, and colourful borders. Its long flowering season, drought resistance, and pollinator appeal make it a must-have for adding fiery energy to your summer garden.

Seasonal Beauty & Growth

Spring:

  • Forms a neat clump of dark green foliage.

  • Grows rapidly, preparing for an extended flowering season.

Summer:

  • Produces masses of daisy-like flowers in glowing shades of orange, coral, and amber, each with a coppery cone.

  • Blooms continuously from early to late summer.

  • Attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators in abundance.

Autumn:

  • Flowers persist into early autumn.

  • Seedheads offer structure and can be left for birds and winter interest.

Winter:

  • Dies back to ground level.

  • Leave dried stems for wildlife or cut back for a tidy look. Hardy and returns reliably each year.
