This spectacular climber rewards patience with an incredible display of exotic trumpet flowers in late summer, transforming walls and pergolas into curtains of glowing colour.
From late summer through autumn, large clusters of salmon-apricot trumpet flowers up to 8cm long appear in abundance. The pinnate foliage emerges fresh green in spring and provides attractive coverage throughout the growing season.
Ideal for south or west-facing walls, pergolas, arbours and strong fences. Excellent for covering unsightly structures. The late summer flowering provides colour when many other climbers have finished.
Plant in full sun against a warm wall for best flowering. Requires strong support until established. Water regularly during establishment. Prune in late winter, cutting back the previous season's growth to 2-3 buds to encourage flowering spurs. Flowers appear on current season's growth.
Combines beautifully with late summer flowering clematis, roses and passion flowers. Underplant with lavenders, salvias or ornamental grasses. The apricot tones complement purple and blue flowering plants.
A truly rewarding climber for gardeners willing to provide the right conditions, delivering a breathtaking display that brings an exotic touch to late summer gardens.
