Amelanchier or June Berry are lovely deciduous shrubs. They are valued for their five petaled star shaped, white or pink flushed flowers and fine Autumn colour which is followed by round or pear shaped, purple fruits. Amelanchier are excellent for inviting wildlife into the garden. Amelanchiers thrive in acidic soil and want to be planted at the back of the border or as a specimen stand alone. 

The fruits on amelanchiers are nice to eat raw but they do have strong almond tastes, they are good for pies and jams.

Amelanchier Lamarkii are also known as Juneberry are deciduous shrubs or small tree, they have a natural tree form which works for most gardens. These are getting quite popular in the gardens with their many beuatiful attributes. Young leaves unfold bronze as an abundant show of star shaped, white flowers open from mid- to late spring, that are quite luminous in the evening. Edible purple / red fruits in June that birds and love and so do gardeners if you can get in quick! Foliage then matures to dark green, turning brilliant red and orange in autumn. Height can reach 6m.

Lamarckii are easy to grow and the ideal specimen for the beginner. They are very versatile, planting is borders / hedges or as specimen tree, they do well in full sun and moist well drained acidic soil, (if non plant in ericaceous) once established they can be drought resistant. Feed once a year with a general slow realease fertiliser. Pruning wise this can be done regular if you wish to keep it tidy and small if not just remove of any dead, broken branches.

No, we measure from the top of the pot to the tip of the plant except for some of the instant planted screens, in this case it will be stated in the description

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are delivered in just a few days, Smaller items are often sent with Parcelforce on a next day service, Larger items should allow up to 10 days due to the size of the items they often have to be sent on our own transport.

Where will you leave my plants?

We will leave your order at the front of your property, Parcelforce may
leave your items in a safe place if you let us know, Pallet couriers
will require a flat hard surface to deliver to, no gravel or soil, a
driveway or parking spot would be best. Most importantly Deliveries by
pallet courier will require access for a large truck (bin lorry sized)
to get near the delivery point. Deliveries sent on our own transport may come in a small van or larger truck.
