View full detailsRootball (or ‘rootballed’) plants are field-grown, then lifted with a generous ball of soil around their roots wrapped in biodegradable hessian. It’s a traditional, cost-effective way to buy larger hedging and specimen plants — especially evergreens such as laurel, yew and box.
Because they’re lifted while dormant, rootballed plants are best planted from autumn through to early spring. They establish quickly and offer excellent value compared with the equivalent size grown in a pot.
