Magnolia figo ‘Hedgetag’ is a compact evergreen shrub prized for its glossy foliage, fragrant creamy blooms, and attractive red-bronze new growth. Ideal for low hedging, borders, and containers, it provides year-round structure with added seasonal colour.
Magnolia figo, often known as Banana Shrub, produces small, red cup-shaped flowers from late spring into summer. The blooms release a sweet banana-like fragrance, making it perfect for planting near seating areas or entrances. ‘Hedgetag’ has a naturally dense, tidy habit, and its fresh red-bronze foliage emerges in spring, gradually maturing to deep glossy green, adding extra ornamental value.
