Hydrangea paniculata ‘Skyfall’ – Elegant Panicle Hydrangea with Distinctive Lily-Like Blooms
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Skyfall’ is a striking deciduous shrub celebrated for its airy, elongated flower panicles and uniquely shaped, lily-like florets. A compact and reliable performer, ‘Skyfall’ adds elegance and long-lasting seasonal interest to gardens, patios, and mixed borders. Its profusion of creamy-white blooms gradually transforms into soft pink and green hues as the season progresses, offering an evolving colour display from midsummer into autumn.
Seasonal Beauty & Growth
Spring:
Fresh green foliage unfurls, forming a neat, bushy mound that sets the stage for summer flowering. Strong stems promise excellent flower support later in the season.
Summer:
From July to September, large, graceful panicles up to 30 cm long cover the plant. The flowers, shaped like small lilies, are initially creamy white and highly attractive to pollinators.
Autumn:
The blooms mature, developing subtle pink and green tints for a multi-tonal effect. The foliage often turns warm yellow before falling, adding another layer of seasonal appeal.
Winter:
Spent flower heads provide structure and winter interest. Pruning in late winter encourages vigorous new growth and generous blooms for the following year.
