Its arching stems bear soft, golden leaves and in the summer, months dangling maroon and white blooms emerge which are followed by purple-black berries in the autumn - which makes them a real favourite if you want to attract wildlife into the garden.
Leycesteria is an easy shrub to grow and looks great in woodland or coastal gardens - especially in dry areas.
Grow Leycesteria in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.
It can be pruned back hard if desired either in spring or after they have flowered
