Fargesia angustissima – Graceful Clump-Forming Bamboo for Elegant Screening
Fargesia angustissima is a tall, elegant bamboo, prized for its fine-textured foliage and non-invasive, clump-forming habit. Unlike running bamboos, it stays neatly contained, making it a practical and garden-friendly choice for screening and structure without the need for root barriers.
Its slender, upright canes carry a mass of narrow, soft green leaves that create a light, airy effect. The foliage moves gently in the breeze, adding sound, movement, and a calming atmosphere to the garden. Over time, it forms a dense yet graceful screen, ideal for privacy without feeling heavy or imposing.
Evergreen and hardy, Fargesia angustissima performs well in both sun and partial shade, preferring moist, well-drained soil. It is particularly useful for boundaries, contemporary planting, and woodland-style gardens where a softer, more natural look is desired.
Low maintenance and easy to manage, it requires little more than occasional thinning to remove older canes and maintain its shape.
Elegant, reliable, and non-invasive, Fargesia angustissima is an excellent choice for creating height, privacy, and movement with a refined, natural feel.
