Photinia × fraseri 'Red Robin'
Common name: Photinia
A popular evergreen shrub or small tree prized for its vibrant red young foliage, which matures to glossy green, providing year-round interest. Photinia 'Red Robin' adds bold colour and structure to gardens, especially when used as a hedge, screen, or feature plant.
In spring, clusters of small white flowers may appear, particularly if the plant is lightly trimmed rather than tightly clipped. It responds well to pruning, allowing it to be maintained at a desired height and shape.
Thrives in full sun to light shade and prefers moist but well-drained soil. It is wind-tolerant, pollution-resistant, and fully hardy in most parts of the UK.
Ultimate height and spread:
4–5m high × 3–4m wide (smaller if clipped regularly)
Position: Full sun or partial shade
Soil type: Moist, well-drained; tolerates a range of conditions
Suitable for: Hedging, screens, specimen planting, containers
Does the height include the pot?
No, we measure from the top of the pot to the tip of the plant except for some of the instant planted screens, in this case it will be stated in the description
