Cherry Laurel ‘Novita’ – Hardy Evergreen Hedging with Dense Growth
Cherry Laurel ‘Novita’ is a robust and reliable evergreen shrub, widely valued for its dense foliage and excellent hedging performance. Its large, glossy dark green leaves form a thick canopy that provides year-round privacy, shelter, and structure in the garden.
This variety is particularly known for its strong growth and improved resistance to disease, making it a dependable choice for creating tall, long-lasting hedges. Its upright yet bushy habit allows it to establish quickly and form a solid evergreen screen.
In spring, upright clusters of small white flowers appear above the foliage, lightly fragrant and attractive to pollinators. These may be followed by dark berries later in the year, which can provide food for birds.
Highly adaptable, ‘Novita’ grows well in full sun, partial shade, or even deep shade, and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions once established. It responds well to trimming, allowing it to be shaped into neat formal hedges or left to grow more naturally.
Hardy, vigorous, and easy to maintain, Cherry Laurel ‘Novita’ is one of the best choices for dependable evergreen hedging in UK gardens.
