Leycesteria formosa ‘Purple Rain’ – Cascading Colour and Wildlife Appeal
Description
Leycesteria formosa ‘Purple Rain’, also known as Himalayan Honeysuckle, is a bold, ornamental shrub with strong upright stems and a bushy habit. In summer, it produces long, drooping clusters of purple bracts, each enclosing delicate white flowers. These are followed in autumn by deep purple, glossy berries that are loved by birds.
With its fast growth, striking colours, and generous wildlife value, ‘Purple Rain’ is an excellent addition to informal gardens, mixed shrub borders, or naturalistic plantings.
