Azalea ‘Naranja’ – Brilliant Orange Knaphill Azalea for Late Spring Colour
Azalea ‘Naranja’ is a vibrant Knaphill azalea, celebrated for its glowing orange flowers that appear in late spring. The large, trumpet-shaped blooms are carried in clusters along the branches, creating a vivid display that brings warmth and brightness to borders and woodland gardens.
The striking flowers often emerge just as the fresh green foliage begins to develop, allowing the bold orange tones to stand out clearly. Planted in groups or mixed with other azaleas and rhododendrons, ‘Naranja’ creates dramatic spring planting combinations.
With its naturally bushy, upright growth, this azalea works beautifully in woodland-style borders where it can be combined with ferns, hostas, and other shade-tolerant plants. Its strong colouring also provides a bold focal point within mixed shrub planting.
Like other Knaphill azaleas, ‘Naranja’ thrives in partial shade and prefers acidic, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Once established, it is hardy and reliable, requiring minimal maintenance beyond occasional shaping after flowering.
Bright, bold, and wonderfully eye-catching, Azalea ‘Naranja’ is a superb choice for adding vibrant late spring colour to UK gardens.
