These June Berriers can be an added feature to any garden. They are suited to mixed flower borders, feature stand alone shrub / tree or they do well in large pots
They grow in all soils but thrive best in acidic soil and also get the best autumn colours if planted in acidic soil, they require full sun – to get the best flowers - or partial shade and good air circulation (not overcrowded borders).
We would recommend pruning June Berrys after they have flowered. They can withstand a hard prune but this will reduce the number of flowers next season, better if you do it little and often.
Water regularly when newly planted, usually the first growing season, (depending on when planted) after this they tend to be self sufficient
Lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Avoid heavy pruning, which may reduce flowering. Regular trimming helps keep the shrub neat.
Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring and again in mid-summer to help get the best autumn colours.
