Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Golf Ball’ – Naturally Rounded Evergreen for Neat Structure
Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Golf Ball’ is a compact and beautifully shaped evergreen shrub, forming a naturally dense, rounded mound of glossy green foliage. As its name suggests, the plant grows into a tidy ball-like form with minimal pruning, making it ideal for adding structure and definition to garden spaces.
The small, fresh green leaves create a fine texture that works particularly well in modern planting schemes, gravel gardens, and neatly arranged borders. Its naturally compact habit also makes it a great choice for patio containers or low informal hedging.
In late spring, tiny dark purple flowers may appear within the foliage, releasing a light honey-like fragrance, though the plant is mainly grown for its attractive evergreen form.
‘Golf Ball’ thrives in a sheltered position with well-drained soil and performs best in sun or partial shade. Once established, it is low maintenance and requires only occasional trimming to maintain its naturally rounded shape.
Smart, tidy, and versatile, Pittosporum ‘Golf Ball’ is an excellent choice for gardeners looking for year-round structure with minimal effort.
