Hydrangea macrophylla Pink – Classic Pink Mophead Hydrangea for Summer Colour
Hydrangea macrophylla Pink is a classic and reliable garden shrub, producing large rounded flower heads in soft to vibrant shades of pink from summer into early autumn. The bold mophead blooms bring warmth and colour to borders, creating a full and eye-catching display.
The lush green foliage provides a healthy backdrop for the flowers, giving the plant a dense and attractive appearance throughout the growing season. Depending on soil conditions, flower colour may vary slightly, with more alkaline soils encouraging stronger pink tones.
With its naturally bushy, compact habit, this hydrangea is ideal for borders, containers, and partially shaded areas of the garden. It works particularly well in cottage-style planting schemes or as a focal point where its large blooms can be appreciated.
Thriving in sun or partial shade, Hydrangea macrophylla prefers moist, well-drained soil and benefits from regular watering during dry periods. As it flowers on old wood, pruning should be minimal—mainly removing spent blooms and dead stems.
Reliable, colourful, and easy to grow, Hydrangea macrophylla Pink is an excellent choice for adding long-lasting summer interest to UK gardens.
