Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Purple’ – Compact African Lily with Rich Purple Blooms
Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Purple’ is a striking and compact African Lily, producing rounded clusters of rich purple-blue flowers from mid to late summer. The bold flower heads rise above neat clumps of strap-like green foliage, bringing colour and structure to sunny planting schemes.
This variety is particularly valued for its manageable size and prolific flowering, making it ideal for smaller gardens, containers, and patio displays. The upright stems hold the blooms clearly above the foliage, creating a clean and elegant look.
Highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, ‘Poppin’ Purple’ adds both visual appeal and wildlife value to the garden. It pairs beautifully with ornamental grasses and late-flowering perennials, extending seasonal interest into late summer.
Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this agapanthus performs best in a warm, sheltered position. It is well suited to container growing, where it can be protected in colder conditions if needed.
Bold, compact, and long-flowering, Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Purple’ is an excellent choice for adding vibrant summer colour to UK gardens.
