Wisteria is a lovely woody twining climber with beautiful perfumed flowers. They are one of the more hardy climbers which you can train them to climb up walls and over garden structures. During the summer months your garden will be brightened up with the Wisteria  has pinnate green leaves and long pendulous racemes of scented lilac purple flowers, in long racemes  in summer, followed by velvety pods. To grow Wisterias is quite straight forward and are easy to plant. Wisterias like a sunny spot but will also grow in partial shade, they like well drained soil but will dry out so they need to be kept well watered. It can be pruned twice a year in July/August, all you need to do is cut back any whippy green shoots of the new growth and then in January/February when you cut back the same growths two or three buds. To Feed your wisteria - You are best feeding wisteria in the spring with growmore, and if the soil is quite sandy you really should use some flowering shrubs fertilizer to add a bit of Potassium in order to give them the best chance to flourish. If you have a smaller garden or even a patio that you need brightening up Wisterias can be kept in pots and pruned when needed, Feed you Container grown Wisteria Miracle grow to ensure that it keeps on flowering each year.
