The flowers of many Viburnum are highly fragranced so are fabulous when planted by a pathway or entrance where they can be fully appreciated.
Viburnum can be used as an informal hedge and are tolerant of partial shade.
They are best suited to moist, well-drained and moderately fertile soil which can be achieved by adding good quality compost. They are very easy to care for and only need minimal pruning to remove any unwanted growth. This should be done in mid-summer after flowering.
