Laburnum

Laburnum

Laburnum sometimes known as the golden chain tree, so called for its magnificent display of long drooping pea-like yellow flowers, they are a popular tree around gardens and parks in the UK, the most spectacular looking being at Bodnant Garden in Wales.

A relative of the Pea family, it is a fast growing medium sized deciduous tree with glossy green leaves.

Where to site your Laburnum

A tall drooping tree, it can be trained over a pergola for ultimate wow factor or free standing as a specimen tree.

How to grow and look after your Laburnum

Laburnums will tolerate any type of soil as long as they are not permanently wet or very heavy but they are happiest in a sunny position with a well-drained soil but are ok with part shade.
