A great plant that can be planted at 1 or 2 to the metre, 2 per metre for an instant hedge or 1 per metre if you are happy to wait until next spring for them to fill out.
Thuja - cedar - are fast growing, evergreen conifers, they have compact rich green foliage that when crushed smells heavenly of pineapple. They respond very well to being trimmed and make a lovely hedge, not as quick growing as the leylandii and can be trimmed hard. To plant thujas they like pretty much all soils but don't like to sit wet.
