Matteuccia
Matteuccia
Are rhizomatous deciduous ferns, sometimes with stolons, forming shuttlecock-like rosettes of erect or spreading, pinnately divided fronds, with smaller, erect, bead-like fertile fronds.
You can help make them taller by giving them a wrap in winter to save some height being lost to cold weather, but are hardy in any case and will re-leaf each spring.
