We are one of the largest growers and suppliers of shrubs. All of the shrubs for sale on our website and at our nursery are professionally cultivated and looked after by our expert horticulturalists. We promise that our plants are kept in perfect conditions and that we only provide strong and healthy produce.

Ranging from long and elegant grasses such as the feather-like Cortaderia to flowering magnolias, we offer an eclectic mix of different shrubs that come in all different sizes. These sizes, including two-litre large plants, for those who just can’t wait for them to grow on their own.

Why buy shrubs?

Shrubs are an ideal garden space-saving alternative to hedges or trees. Usually classified as woody-stemmed plants that grow up to 15ft above ground, they make the perfect addition to any garden border. We provide shrubs for all different conditions, including shrubs for shade, garden shrubs and fast-growing shrubs such as our the Buddleja. With such an array of different plant styles, you can trust that we will have the right shrub for you.

It can be a struggle to find attractive looking plants that thrive in the shade. However, here at Grasslands, we have some real standout beauties that just can’t get enough of the darker corners of your garden. The Aucuba shrub is a versatile evergreen that boasts striking alternate green leaves. And with an almost camouflage pattern, this shrub will really complement the other green tones in your garden. The Aucuba or the ‘Japanese Laurel’, as it is sometimes referred to, bears red berries and offers colder and more wintery shades. A great pairing to go next to the Aucuba is the similarly coloured evergreen shrub, Photinia. But make sure you plant it in partial sunlight.

As well as looking pretty, shrubs can provide a habitat for wildlife. Due to their dense nature when planted in close proximity, shrubs look similar to a hedge, with ample sheltered space for insects and animals to thrive in. With many of the shrubs flowering in spring and summer, there is plenty of nectar, which attracts bees and butterflies. Shrub borders also provide essential cover for nesting, roosting and hibernating. Creating a border using shrubs is a brilliant way of encouraging nature to flourish in your outdoor space.
