How to Grow and Look After you Erica
They like to grow in a sunny site in well-drained soil, ideally acidic loving if not then ericaceous compost should be added.
Some varieties once established can tolerate it dry.
Summer flowering Heathers should be pruned in late autumn of early spring below the old flowers.
Winter flowering Heathers should be trimmed lightly in spring straight after they have finished flowering. By pruning it will keep them alive and growing nicely.
They don’t really need any fertiliser adding but if you see that yours particularly needs a little something then use a low rate of ericaceous feed.
