Pulmonaria Opal bears narrow silvery-green leaves, lightly speckled with dark green near the margins, and pale blue flowers from late winter to late spring
Pulmonaria or lungwort are clump forming perennials with lance shaped leaves often spotted with colour. They are one of the first perennials to flower in early spring with stalks of pretty flowers on short stalks.
They grow in all soils but are more suited to deep shade or at leaste semi-shade. It's the answer for that shaded area where much else refuses to grow well. Short ground cover habit will eventually cover over poor shaded areas, they compliment epimediums and pachysandra.
